SHARING THE LOVE: THE BRUSSELS WRITERS’ CIRCLE
Monday to Friday, the city of Brussels is buzzing with politically charged activity, but after hours and at the weekends it’s a magical hotbed of diverse, contemporary arts and culture. Hiding in the midst of this creative energy is the Brussels Writers’ Circle. The BWC has been meeting weekly above Maison des Crepes, just steps from Brussels’ famous Grand Place, for more than a dozen years. It attracts people of all ages, published and emerging writers and poets, screenwriters and playwrights, comedians and musicians, newspaper editors and journalists.
Writing can be a lonely endeavour, and sometimes a short story or poem can take years to perfect. The BWC is open to any writer (new to Brussels, born and bred, or just passing through), in need of renewal, motivation, inspiration, friendship or reassurance.
With The Circle 19: a Brussels Anthology, Idle Time Press is honoured to share the talents of the BWC with a wider audience. Please support Brussels-based writers by purchasing the The Circle 19: a Brussels Anthology which showcases twenty-seven poets and writers representing fourteen countries. Some of the award winning authors included in The Circle 19: a Brussels Anthology are: Patrick ten Brink (Germany), TD Arkenberg (USA), Irina Papancheva (Bulgaria), Niamh Moroney (Ireland), Xavier Quiepo (Spain), and Teodora Lalova (Bulgaria).
And if you find yourself in Brussels on a Tuesday night at 7pm, you know where to go.
